Unlocking Your Body's Wisdom

Welcome to the fascinating world of Kinesiology – a remarkable blend of science, intuition, and healing. Kinesiology is the study of muscles, and it goes far beyond the physical. It’s a holistic approach that taps into your body’s innate wisdom to restore balance and promote overall well-being.

Origins & Evolution

At its core, Kinesiology is the study of muscles, their functions, and the intricate interplay between physical and emotional aspects of our being.

Developed in the 1960s by Dr. George Goodheart and fellow chiropractors in the U.S.A, Kinesiology has evolved into a comprehensive system for testing and balancing muscles, paving the way for enhanced health and vitality.

In 1970 to 1973, Dr. John Thie introduced “Touch for Health,” extracting essential Applied Kinesiology techniques and making them accessible to the general public. Applied Kinesiology serves as the foundation, where we tap into the body’s own biofeedback mechanisms to facilitate healing.

By evaluating muscle responses, Kinesiology uncovers insights into the mind-body connection, leading to personalized and effective solutions for a wide range of concerns.

Balancing the Body

In addition to muscle balancing, we balance the whole body using meridian theory, lymphatic drainage, and neurovascular holding points, physical manipulation and emotional stress release.

Our bodies operate on many levels, including electrical, emotional, nutritional, physical and spiritual levels. Muscle testing is used to establish if any imbalances exist in the body being tested in these and other levels. Not only can muscle testing establish where imbalances exist in the body, it can also be used to establish the most suitable remedy for the particular person being tested. This means that the person being tested will find out the root cause of the problems, and also the correct program to follow to get well again.

A Shift from Symptom Management

We are all familiar with orthodox western style medicine, which tends to treat the symptoms of disease. The holistic approach is to find and treat the root cause of the problem by bringing the body back into balance. Here is a common example: a person who gets headaches frequently may take headache tablets for relief (often self-administered!) and this would indeed treat the symptom in that the headache may go away. However, the headache could be caused by bad diet, or result from constipation, or be caused by any number of other conditions. This means that the underlying problem is not being treated and could worsen over time leading to more and more serious symptoms. This is just one example of how treating the symptom may not always be the best thing to do. Kinesiology techniques can be used to help establish and treat the root cause of the problem from the word go.

Tapping into the Body’s Wisdom

Monitoring and testing the response of specific muscles can obtain a huge amount of information obtained directly from the body. This is possible because the body is like a computer, with a vast storehouse of knowledge regarding its condition. All the practitioner does is access this knowledge!

A Multifaceted Approach

Kinesiology is a versatile and non-invasive therapy that can be applied to diverse areas of health and wellness:

Prioritize Your Well-Being

In an ideal world, nobody would ever get sick. It is a sad fact that our modern lifestyle increases our likelihood of getting sick. The ever quickening pace of life, food additives, pollution, radiation of all kinds and our social structures all contribute to the wearing down of our physical and mental defences. This is evidenced by the increased incidence of heart disease and cancers, which are considered relatively “modern” diseases. People nowadays have to be more vigilant about their health and staying well. Diet, mental attitude and minding our body have never been as important as they are today.

A Holistic Approach to Preventive Care

In China, people go to their doctor to be kept well! Regular visits for “balancing” help keep the body healthy and catch potential problems before they become real problems. An analogy of this is the regular servicing of a car. To keep cars running well, most people have them serviced regularly. Failing to service the car will eventually result in serious and possible life-threatening failures for the driver (by brakes failing, worn tires etc. etc.). In the western world, we accept the logic of car servicing without question. However, we only visit our doctors when our body starts to give trouble, instead of going for a regular service to keep us well. It is unfortunate that orthodox medical practitioners expect visits only from sick people.
